Soccer is a global sport, a language which is spoken around the world.  It is never so evident as during the World Cup, when countries come together to compete, but also unite to celebrate.

A few examples:

Today I traded texts with a good friend Sascha.  He is Dutch, but lives in Los Angeles with his Peruvian wife Luz.  Sascha also works with the Mexican Soccer Federation.  Holland didn’t qualify, so after visiting family, he will head to Spain to enjoy some World Cup fever.  He sent me the picture below.

I connected with another good friend and former teammate Kely.  He is American, but is in Russia with his wife Erika (who is also Peruvian).  They live internationally in South Korea.  These pictures are from todays game, Peru vs Denmark.

Soccer truly brings the world together like no other sport.
