Sally Ziemer with former US Women’s National Teams players Mia Hamm and Kristine Lilly at Manhattan Beach

My daughter Sally and I are in the LA area to watch the Sacramento Republic take on Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles FC at the brand new Banc de California stadium.  My brother (Sally’s uncle) Benjamin is the assistant coach for Sacramento Republic.

We are staying in Manhattan Beach and decided to walk to Hermosa Beach to watch the morning World Cup games.  On the way, we bumped into Mia Hamm and Kristine Lilly.  Both are US Women’s National team legends and were often included in bedtime stories I told Sally.

They were kind enough to take a picture with Sally, possibly because they felt bad for her that she was wearing matching Spain uniforms with her dad…

Not a bad start to the day…
