I am picking Belgium and England to win, because if everything goes as planned, I will watch the Belgium game in Brussels and the England game in London.

I am 15 minutes away from boarding a flight.  It was a last minute decision made possible by crazy cheap flights on WOW Air.  I had never heard of them either…

I decided to go less than 24 hours ago and the trip is coming together.  I look forward to sharing some details of my trip with you.

I will leave SF shortly, arrive in Iceland with just enough time to do a few Viking claps and arrive in Brussels about 2.5 hours before kickoff.

I will be picked up from the airport in Brussels by a Dutch friend, Jay van Veelen, who has spent many a summer coaching in Sonoma County.  He decided to come to Brussels on less than 24 hours notice.

Flights to Paris were too expensive and Croatia would have been tough to pull off as I booked the Euro-train from Brussels to London.

It won’t be the same as watching the games live in Russia, but in some ways it might be better, especially if both countries can win and advance to the final.

It promises to be an epic trip.  Enjoy the games!
