I’ve been in France for three days, have seen three lives games at three different venues in three different cities.  In many circles that might consider me an expert, but I’m just scratching the surface of my full experience.

I came into the tournament with a list of questions.  Well, in my mind anyway.  I’m starting to get a sense of some of the answers, but will wait to reflect too much until I’ve been here longer and the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup has come to a close.

A few of the questions I pondered before arriving:

What is the level of support and enthusiasm for the Women’s World Cup in France and from the fans throughout the world?

What will the stadium atmosphere be like?

Will the stadiums be sold out?

Will the energy of the visiting fans be similar to past men’s world cups which I have attended?

Will the level of play reach what was expected?

Which team (s) will surprise the world?

Which player (s) will surprise the world?

What will the media coverage be like, in the US, in France and throughout the world?

What will be the major stories of the tournament?

In a future blog, I will provide my answers so stay tuned…
