Sally and I were wandering through Le Havre before the US vs Sweden game, when we came across a collection of shops with local goods.  In one of the shops, we purchased a few gifts and the shop owner who was especially welcoming asked us for a photo with one of her employees as we were dressed in US gear.

I asked them if they played soccer and the owner told us that she wished she had been born now, as she would have loved to play soccer, but she when was growing up there was no opportunity for girls to play.  With that in mind, it is especially nice to see the enthusiasm around the event across France and for the current and future generations to have more opportunities than the previous one.  This doesn’t just apply to soccer, as many other aspects of society change but it reminded us both to continue to celebrate the growth of the women’s soccer.
