When the World Cup rolls into North America in 2026, fans will have choices which countries, cities and venues to visit.

I’ve been in Seattle for the past few days and would highly recommend fans, especially those on the West Coast to visit Seattle in their World Cup travels.

CenturyLink Field, home of both the Seattle Sounders (MLS) and Seattle Seahawks (NFL) is a stadium worthy of hosting World Cup games. Capacity is 69,000 which makes it large enough to host almost any level World Cup game.  The fan support in Seattle will make Century Link an attractive destination for global soccer fans.  In addition to the traveling fans from both countries represented, the Seattle fan base will join in on the festivities with their soccer savvy culture, which we experienced yesterday when the Sounders hosted Chicago Fire in an MLS game.

Seattle has all of the other necessary ingredients (major airport, hotels, beautiful sights, etc), and although it is a bit isolated from other venues, it could be a great combination destination with any of the West Coast venues (San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles).

You have my vote Seattle and I would enjoy returning for a World Cup game in 2026!

CenturyLink Stadium has a beautiful backdrop and passionate fan base from the Sounders.

Size does matter in World Cup stadiums and 69,000 capacity will provide space for visiting fans and locals too.

Santa Rosa United 02 girls were impressed with the venue in their recent visit to watch the Sounders host the Chicago Fire.

I give Seattle two thumbs up for hosting World Cup games in 2026!
